V2K H.E.L.P.E.R. FOUNDATION OFFERS A RANGE OF PROGRAMS, INCLUDING:
- Targeting 14 -25 year-olds, this gang intervention effort was created in 1997 to provide counseling, mentoring, parenting classes, anger management and life-skills training, after-school activities, such as sports, art programs and field trips
- Trained gang intervention workers connect directly with gang members to provide crisis intervention to defuse potentially violent situations, develop peace treaties between rival gangs, and provide alternative, positive opportunities, including occupational training, employment, and drug and alcohol abuse treatment referral services.
- Safe Passage Staff is on-site at Venice High School to ensure "safe passage" between home and school in neighborhoods where intimidation, drug-dealing, and shootings occur far too often. We engage surrounding businesses and organizations to build a “safety net” with us.
